Iniciativas tecnológicas conjuntas JTI(joint technology iniciatives) proponen facilitar la cooperación en la investigación europea. El objetivo de estas iniciativas es contribuir a la competitividad europea en determinado número de sectores un sectores clave, potenciando la inversión en la industria tecnológica y con claro liderazgo industrial.
Las JTI se han constituido como asociaciones sin animo de lucro fundadas por la industria , la comisión europea y en algunos casos Estados Miembros y asociados. Entre estas asociaciones podemos destacar:
